Description

CnT-PR-3D (CnT-Prime Epithelial 3D Airlift Medium) is a chemically defined formulation designed for optimal differentiation of primary human epidermal keratinocytes in 3D airlift cultures. It is completely free of animal or human-derived components and does not contain phenol red or antibiotics/antimycotics.
The medium contains a specifically tailored mix of growth factors and lipids to create an environment conducive to full differentiation and the formation of a strong epidermal barrier. This results in maximal differentiation and increased barrier function in 3D epidermal keratinocyte models.
CnT-PR-3D is used to establish 3D epidermal models from primary human keratinocytes previously expanded in CnT proliferation media. According to the recommended protocol, this can be achieved within 12 days of airlift culture. For convenience, the 3D Airlift Medium is also available as part of 3D Starter Kits, which include all components necessary for the establishment of 3D epidermal models.

It is strongly recommended to use epithelial cells that are growing in CELLnTEC epithelial proliferation media such as CnT-NX-E or CnT-NX-EX, to avoid a switch in base medium composition during model formation.
