Description

CnT-PR-CC is a fully defined medium specifically formulated to enable balanced co-culture of primary human keratinocytes and fibroblasts in a controlled environment. This medium supports the simultaneous growth of both epithelial and stromal cells without compromising their respective phenotypes.
In practice, keratinocytes and fibroblasts are first expanded in their respective media. When seeded at a 50:50 ratio into standard 2D culture, both cell types proliferate effectively. At confluency, the cultures display the characteristic keratinocyte progenitor colonies with a small, tight cobblestone morphology, surrounded by fibroblasts.
CnT-PR-CC provides an ideal platform for studies requiring epithelial-stromal interactions in vitro, such as wound healing, tissue regeneration, and skin model development.

CnT-PR-CC has been developed for co-culture of keratinocytes and fibroblasts in 2D. For 3D co-culture (transwell skin models), it is recommended to use CnT-PR-FTAL5. For proliferation, it is recommended to use the respective proliferation media (e.g. CnT-PR-F, CnT-NX-E, CnT-NX-EX).
