Description

CnT-PR-KM is a fully defined medium specifically formulated to enable balanced co-culture of primary human keratinocytes and melanocytes in a controlled environment. This medium supports the simultaneous growth of both cell types without compromising their respective phenotypes.
Keratinocytes and melanocytes are initially expanded in their respective media—epithelial proliferation media for keratinocytes and CnT-40 for melanocytes. After expansion, cells are seeded at the desired ratio (e.g., 2:1 or 5:1) into standard 2D culture, where both cell types proliferate effectively.
CnT-PR-KM provides an ideal platform for studies involving pigmentation, skin biology, and keratinocyte-melanocyte interactions.

CnT-PR-KM has been developed for co-culture of keratinocytes and melanocytes in 2D. For 3D co-culture (epidermal models), it is recommended to use CnT-PR-3D. For proliferation, it is recommended to use the respective proliferation media (e.g. CnT-40, CnT-NX-E, CnT-NX-EX).
