Description

CnT-PR-MH is a fully defined, ready-to-use medium designed for the maintenance of primary melanocytes in a homeostatic state for up to one week. It provides only minimal growth factor stimulation, sufficient to maintain cell function while maximizing responsiveness to experimental stimuli. The formulation is free of PMA, TPA, and antibiotics/antimycotics.
In the absence of strong growth factor stimulation typically found in standard proliferation media, melanocytes cultured in CnT-PR-MH exhibit heightened responsiveness to experimental treatments, such as tyrosinase inhibitors for whitening studies.
Recommended Whitening Assay Workflow:
1) Grow melanocytes to near confluence in CnT-40 proliferation medium.
2) Switch cells to CnT-PR-MD differentiation medium and allow differentiation for 5 days.
3) Switch to CnT-PR-MH homeostasis medium one day prior to starting the assay.
