Description

The PRFT‑CELLS‑24 Full‑Thickness 3D Skin Model Starter Kit contains everything required to establish full‑thickness three‑dimensional skin models from primary human keratinocyte and fibroblast cultures. Designed for air‑liquid interface culture, the kit provides a complete set of cells, media, and inserts to enable reliable and reproducible construction of physiologically relevant full‑thickness skin tissues.
The kit includes primary human keratinocytes and primary human dermal fibroblasts, along with their respective proliferation media: CnT‑NX‑E for epithelial monolayer expansion and CnT‑PR‑F for fibroblast proliferation. For 3D culture, the kit provides CnT‑PR‑FTAL5 medium, which supports full‑thickness air‑lift differentiation. In addition, the kit contains a CnT‑SP spacer plate, designed to increase medium volume when using standard 12‑well plates, and twenty‑four 0.4 μm pore‑size inserts suitable for air‑lift culture.
Because the included cells are of human origin, they must be handled as hazardous. Although they have tested negative for HIV‑1, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C, they should be treated as potentially infectious, and appropriate biocontainment procedures, protective equipment, and laboratory safety practices must be followed to prevent accidental exposure.
Full‑thickness 3D skin models can be routinely established using the recommended protocol, which guides expansion of the primary cells, their sequential seeding, and transition to air‑liquid interface using the supplied media and inserts.
