Adipocyte morphology in white adipose tissue.

In vitro differentiated adipocytes display the characteristic morpholoy and lipid droplets of mature adipocytes.

Degradation of lipids leads to the formation of glycerol. By treating adpocytes with active ingredients and then quantifying glycerol concentration, it is possible to evaluate the ability of the actives to reduce the lipid content of the treated adipocytes.

Such lipolytic functions may then be used within fat-reduction and cellulite treatments.
